El Sol

Teotihuacan is a vast Mexican archaeological complex northeast of Mexico City where the Aztecs once dwelled. Running down the middle of the site, which was once a flourishing pre-Columbian city, is the Avenue of the Dead. It links the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Pyramid of the Sun, the latter two with panoramic views. 

 

We had the opportunity to visit these magnificent pyramids which anyone who sees them is left with a feeling of wonder and curiosity. These enormous pyramids are know as the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. The Moon and the Sun are symbols that are seen throughout Mexico in various art forms. The sun is a symbol of energy, life, empowerment, light, warmth, knowledge, and wisdom. 

 

La Luna and El Sol are my interpretation of these symbolic icons.
